About us
With family roots, respect for tradition and culture, Klostergården is a place that provides an extraordinary experience on the island of Tautra. We are on historical grounds as we are located right by the ruins of the old Cistercian monastery from the year 1207.

Klostergården offers you different opportunities, whether you want to come and enjoy local food and beer from the brewery, stay in one of our cozy rooms, visit the farm shop and gallery, organize an event or just enjoy the nature and atmosphere.
We have a number of partners who provide many opportunities to give you "the little extra".
Tautra is known as the pearl of the Trondheim Fjord and has a unique bird life and beautiful nature. The new Mariaklosteret, which was established in 2006, is only a short half-hour walk away
In the farm shop you can buy our self-produced food, as well as products from other local farmers, kitchen utensils and interiors.
We collaborate with gallery owner Bente Riseth and can also offer our visitors to enjoy Norwegian art in her Studio Gloria Fabel.
The café serves delicious, tasty food based on local ingredients and family recipes. We offer lunch and dinner as well as cakes and dessert.

"Charming"
«Went for dinner with a total of five people. We all had a great meal. We had the steak, salmon, and meat balls with root vegetables. The place feel like visiting grandmas house and sitting down to a cozy and delicious warm & hearty meal. Highly suggest if you are in the area.«

«Unique»
«Restaurant with character and very good food. Simple and unobtrusive menu, locally brewed beer from their own microbrewery and homemade cakes. Nice and friendly staff. The café is located next to the old monastery ruins.«
